The Boda-Boda Driver (A Tanzanian Experience) is my first book in the “Come to Africa” series. Even though this is being marketed as a children's book, it’s for all ages. Whether for yourself, your child, niece, or nephew; the book as quoted by someone that left a review, is a “beautiful little story that will entice adults and children alike.” The illustrations are works of art that depict Arusha, Tanzania, and allow you to see the people and its surroundings. The book is art in motion, as we come along with the driver and his passenger through the city. The book started out being just a poem -- an opportunity for me to write my feelings on paper. At the time, I didn’t think it would be nothing but a poem. In the past, I had written poems that I wanted to put in book form for children, but the characters were children. So, when I wrote the poem about the boda-boda driver, it was for me to remember and enjoy my experience in Tanzania. Initially, I was thinking about a different children’s book regarding the boda-boda driver but kept seeing all types of people riding, regardless of the weather, and regardless of what they had in their hands -- free or full -- with eggs or heavy items. However, when I realized that I wanted to focus on one specific boda-boda driver, I allowed my thoughts to flow. I typed out the paragraphs, moved them around, and came up with The Boda-Boda Driver (A Tanzanian Experience).
